Washing the Saviour's Feet

Description

One morning at church while they passed around the offering baskets, I felt bad because I didn't have any money to give. Then I remembered that God doesn't ask us to give what we don't have. I was excited and decided that I'd draw a picture that would honour God. This was around Easter time three years ago.
This drawing is from the story in Luke 7:36-50. It's about how a lady who -- like so many of us -- had gotten mixed up in all the wrong things and was living a messed up life because of it. She wanted freedom, she wanted forgiveness, she wanted love -- she needed God. So she did what so many of us need to do: she came to Jesus. And in the simple yet beautiful act of washing His feet with her tears and drying them with her hair she was able to ask Jesus for the freedom, forgiveness, and love that she needed without even using words. She showed her submission, repentance, and love all at once in a way that let Jesus know she wanted His help. The awesome part is that Jesus wanted to help her and that He did help her -- just as He wants to help each and every one of us if only we'll let Him.

Wow, amazing! I love her look of reverence and sorrow and really repentance. You really do good hair, too! :D
